I’m Blogging…

…over at the Soapbox Queens today.  (It was my week to pull double duty.)  Click on over and tell me what commercial bugs you the most.  I’ve shared mine.

Because I know that your day won’t be complete without listening to me complain about yet another thing.

I’m intuitive that way.

Guess What?

…to the Soapbox Queens!  I’m blogging today and giving away a copy of my first Men Out of Uniform–The Player–on audio.   It’s in a CD format and can be yours with a simple “Queen Me!” in the comment tail.

I am nothing if not generous.

Pillow Talk

Friday, August 17th, 2007

Last night as I was making my nest in bed, it occurred to me that my pillows–all four of them–had to be just right for me to go to sleep.    I need two under my head, one between my knees and one to hug.  I only keep four pillows on the bed so you can guess how many that leaves my dh with.   (There’s an extra on a settee that he uses, before you all decide I am a pillow hog.  Which I am, but there’s no need for name-callin’.)  Anyway, this got me to thinking about other people’s pillow habits.  For instance, Kira Sinclair lugged her fluffy purple pillow all the way to Scotland.  The last time me, Jen and Vicki got togehter, Jen brought her pillow as well.

Hmmm.  I sensing a pattern here.  Clearly I am not the only one with pillow issues.  So…what about ya’ll?  Any pillow preferences?  Inquiring minds….

(And it’s Free Book Friday over at the Soapbox Queens!)

Last Night’s Menu…

Friday, August 10th, 2007
  • Fried Chicken

  • Fried Potatoes

  • Fried Green Tomatoes

  • Fried Peas (Ha!  Just kidding.  They were actually fresh Field Peas, which my fam adores.)

  • Cornbread

  • Fresh sliced tomatoes

  • Tea

  • Sliced peaches and pound cake for dessert.

I kept the phone on the table in the event that one of us had a heart attack and we’d need to call 911.

It’s hot.  I needed comfort food.  And nothing says comfort like fried chicken, excpept maybe a fried Snickers candy bar, but the fair won’t be in town until next month.  (Jen, I’m only kidding.  Seriously.  Even I draw the line at a fried candy bar.  But I wouldn’t be opposed to a caramel apple….  )

It’s Free Book Friday at the Soapbox Queens!  Hope everyone has a great weekend!
