Thank you, Rhonda. I’ve seen the military cemetary where my little sister is buried decked out for July 4th in flags, but never for Christmas. Beautiful.
Fallen heroes are in my thoughts a lot these days. Here in my hometown in Alabama, a local police officer who had only been on the force 3 years was shot and killed during a traffic stop last week. He left behind a wife and 5 children, ages 18 months to 9 years old.
Not only do our military/police forces sacrifice, but their families do too. This family sacrificed a father and husband. His children will always remember losing him at Christmas. I only hope that somehow the community support will make Christmas bearable this year.
