Dreary Day!!!!
Sorry this post is late in coming.Â
I just got out of bed. Because my kids are out of school and it’s dark and gloomy and RAINING!!! Can I get a
 ?
I’ve got to work today, but am seriously considering going back to bed. Dh is still asleep, son is still in bed, daughter spent the night with my mom. The house is quiet. And it’s raining. Have I mentioned that it’s raining? After months of no rain, I could almost go out there and play in it. (And I have before, so…
) What about you? Does sleeping in on rainy days soothe your soul as well?

I’m not even going to think about how much I’d like to go crawl in bed and read. I’ll think instead how nice it is to write…at my desk…when it’s raining. We’re in a Level 4 drought, I am SO thankful for the rain.

If I actually got to stay in bed all snuggly, it would be great. But alas, I’m at work. I work in a tomb - no windows, inner room on the first floor - so I don’t know if its raining or not. I’m always shocked at the end of the day to find its practically flooding outside. I had no clue.
I would like to tentatively declare it officially fall, though! It’s coldish, overcast, a high in the low 70s, the leaves are starting to turn and fall, and there were birds migrating over my house this morning. Not to say we won’t make another leap into the 80s, but we might actually get getting close!

…make that “be getting close.” Too early.

My favorite thing to do is snuggle up in bed and listen to the rain. There’s just something relaxing about it. And considering we need the rain desperately there’s an added edge of relief to that relaxation that makes it even better.

#4 has to cheer at a game tonight and guess who will be sitting out in the rain? Moi. While also welcoming the rain after this drought, I’m not sure I want to sit all soggy and wet for hours while the temperatures drop.

We have rain too. I wish I could have stayed in bed. Everyone have a great day.

Oh I was so happy to see that rain this morning! I can’t believe I’m actually looking forward to cooler temps. After living in Hawaii, I thought winter anywhere else would just kill me. But I want to have a fire, and I want to wear my boots and jackets! LOL, I think I’m sick.
I would have loved to stay in bed this morning, but between my hubby (”where are my black socks?”
and the cats (feed me! feed me! feed me!), I had to give it up and drag myself out of bed.
By the time I got the hubby off to work, I just wanted coffee.

Try taking 15 First Graders to the Pumpkin Patch this morning…
Ugh.

Rainy days are made for sleeping in, good books and warm blankets. With a busy 4-yr old, I don’t get to enjoy any of those things anymore.

Someone go ahead and do them for me then tell me how good it was. I’ll make do with living vicariously.

Jen, I’ve been reading about your drought and Lake Lanier. Bad stuff. I hope this rain helps.
Andrea, working in a tomb can’t be easy. I wouldn’t like not having a window.
Kira, it is the ultimate relaxation. And knowing how desperately we need it makes it all the more better.
Good luck at the game, Kathy!
Susan, hope you and yours are doing well!
Lynn, most of my crew was home today, so working has been tough.
Ginger, maybe it’ll rain this weekend and you can sleep in.
Kimberly, my pumpkin patch days are over. Hope you have a good time. Really.
Rachel, maybe you can convince your baby to take a nap. My babies always enjoyed snuggling.

You’re so lucky it’s rainy in your neck of the woods…here in San Diego everything is burning up it seems and the winds aren’t helping much…at least schools are closed until further notice
NEwho, take care…

Monica, I saw that on the news! Stay safe!

Staying in under the covers sounds like the best way to fully appreciate a rainy day! Alas, few of us seem to have the option… Eeek on the 15 first graders to the pumpkin patch! I just might have to skip out on my 2nd grader’s pumpkin patch visit this year…
