I got a new laptop last week and just got around to opening it yesterday and a funny thing happened. Evidently it had been returned to the store with a previous owner’s name and passwords stored.

It’s a Sony Vaio, which is new to me as I usually go with an HP, and I just thought, “Oh, this must be a test name” when it kept filling in this man’s name into every registration box.
Er…no.
My dh called the store, told them what was happening, and they told me to return it. I did, and the new *new* one is much better. It’s lighter and faster than my old laptop, which the kids will share, and I like the keyboard much better. :::happy sigh::: I feel more productive already. ![]()
So we’re playing volleyball in the pool yesterday–and I’ve got a MISERABLE cold going on–and my daughter, the slightly competitive little ghoul keeps shouting “Send it to the weakest link! Send it to the weakest link!”
Through my medicine-induced haze I finally realize she’s talking about ME.
When I am well, when my nose isn’t streaming and raw and the back of my throat isn’t itchy and on fire, she’s going to get it. I AM NOT and REFUSE TO BE the weakest link. ![]()
…dinner at my Mom’s. My mother is a wonderful cook and she usually fixes supper for the family about once a week. There is something about going “home” for supper, sitting down and knowing that she’s made stuff that she knows I like. As a wife and mother, I appreciate this a WHOLE LOT MORE now that I routinely prepare food for ungrateful, picky people. Last night’s menu:
Goulash, mashed potatoes, corn, fried cabbage and homemade biscuits. (Still can’t make a
biscuit from scratch.) AND homemade strawberry ice cream with strawberry sponge-like cake with yummy strawberry icing. I spent an extra 15 minutes on the treadmill this morning to work all of that off.
But it was worth it.
What reminds you of home? What things to do you find you appreciate more as an adult than you did as a child?
