“I want you to get the ping-pong table off the carport.”

D heaves a long-suffering sigh.  “Is this because your friend is coming over?”

“Yes.  It’s trashy-looking.”

D rolls his eyes, stretches and scatches his chest as though I am so far removed from his understanding.  “We ought not put on airs,” he announces self-righteously.

Put on airs?  Put.On. Airs.  I have be trying to get him to move that thing for two friggin’ months.  Hell, it took two weeks of constant badgering to get it out of the LIVING ROOM.

Put on airs????    Tell me, people, would you consider it “putting on airs” to want the ping-pong table off the car port?  Would ya? Huh?  Would ya?

Whine About it Wednesday!

Another week with no whine.   I know, I know, it’s hard to believe, but…I got nothing.  I’m reading The Vampire’s Secret by Raven Hart.  Fabulous, fabulous book.  I’ve rented The Queen because I’ve been waitnig patiently to have time to watch that movie.  I won’t have to cook tonight–we’ll eat at church.  (And I won’t have to cook tomorrow night either because we’ll go to my Mom’s.)  Jen’s coming over on Friday, we’re attending the Reader’s Luncheon on Saturday.  This week is all about fun stuff.  If I were hardpressed I could find a whine–my daughter doesn’t seem to be able to resist a blank dry erase board or piece of paper, but considering she leaves me little I love you messages with smileys drawn on them, then how can I truly complain?

Life’s good.

Oh, Baby!

My sister goes for her ultrasound today and most of our family is travelling en masse to crowd into the little room and see the future offsrping via mind-boggling technololgy for ourselves.  Naturally, the burning question is whether or not the baby is a boy or a girl.  We’ll be happy with healthy.

I could never wait until D day to find out the sex of my children–I wanted to know both times.  So if you’ve had children, what did you do?  Did you wait the full 9 months and find out the sex at birth, or did you find out earlier?  If you haven’t had children, what do you think you would do?  And if you want to toss some names out there, this baby doesn’t have one yet.
