Mother’s Day

Here’s hoping everyone has a wonderful Mother’s Day this weekend.  We’ll be splitting time between my mother’s and my mother-in-law’s on Sunday, with hopefully a little time left over for me, because after all, I am a mother, too.   Yesterday while I was out shopping for the Mother’s, I went ahead and got my own Mother’s Day present as well.  Another Vera Bradley purse–the Hipster in Peacock.

I love it.

So what have you asked of the family for Mother’s Day?

I’ve asked nothing. Don’t know whether the DH and my kids will come through on their own or not. Probably #1 son will because his wife is really good about stuff like that.

However, I am flying to my mom’s today to be with her once she is released from the hospital, so that’s a nice Mother’s Day treat. I just hope the house isn’t a wreck when I get back. Would you believe that after 34 years of marriage, the DH asked me last night how to do laundry??? So we had laundry lessons. I think it was more a matter of not being familiar with the new washer and dryer though I managed to figure them out. Maybe it’s genetic.

    Love the new purse!!!

I’ll be content with a card. I find enough stuff to buy on my own.

Travel safe and enjoy your weekend with your mom, Marilyn.

Not wanting much here. Husband has 4 books to get out before he leaves for a writer’s conference on the 20th. So he will probably be working. Child and I will go see my mother sometime during the day. Have to catch her awake. She works third. She is working seven days. Have a great one.

I’d asked for time with my family, just me, DH and the girls doing something fun for a few hours. That plan went to hell in a handbasket Saturday we’re going to TN to visit - and hopefully bring home - a new dog. We were planning to take things slowly since we just lost Ming last week but Captain Jack was so perfect… I suppose several hours in the car counts as together time right?

Marilyn, I can totally believe you had to teach your hubby how to do laundry. D put bleach spots over everything the last time he ventured into the utility room.

Jen, I *do* know you’re never at a shortage of things you want.

Susan, bless your mom’s heart. That’s a lot of work. Hope you and yours have a good weekend.

Kira, sorry about Ming. Who is Captain Jack? What sort of dog? Details, dahling! We need details!

  6. Kira Says:

He’s a one year old Australian Blue Heeler mix. House trained, neutered, up to date on shots. If things work out - read my girls get along with him and he seems friendly - we should be bringing him home tomorrow. As much as we loved Ming, he should fit in a little better on the farm than she did (a blind Pekingese).

My son probably will not remember so, I thing I will go get me a 2″ flatiron. My mom and 3 sisters will be getting together tomorrow for our annual MOTHERS’S day pig out. It will be BBQ with the fixing, ice cream cake (yum) and a belated birthday celebration for me, me and me.
Love your purse that you chose. Have a wonderful weekend!

Oh, Kira, he sounds wonderful, and I love his name.

Ginger, I sure hope your son remember’s Mother’s Day! Sounds like you have a wonderful day planned, in any event. We’re having a cookout and ice cream at my Mom’s as well.

Andrea, I agree. It *is* a sign.
