When I gave birth, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, I didn't have the opportunity to learn the sex. Ultrasound technology was there -- I had one with both boys -- but they didn't use it for determining the sex. It was to date the pregnancy. So I had to wait until the delivery.

I had Katherine picked out as a girl's name both times. We would have called her Kate. We also had Eric, William, Marc and Jonathan waiting in the wings. We had a couple names picked out both times and waited until we saw which name fit the baby best.

Are you kidding? I wanted to know as soon as I could possibly know...and I desperately wanted a girl but had convinced myself it was a boy because I'm crazy that way.

Sonographer: You want to know the sex?

Me: YES!

Sonographer: You're having a little girl.

I jacknifed up on the table.

Me: Don't play with me. (Guess I had a touch of hormones going that day) You're sure?

Sonographer: See that...looks like a peach...if it's a boy, he's in trouble.

ROFL

I'm very fond of the name Eden and I don't know anyone named that but I don't think you're people will like that.

I absolutely had to know. Of course Sweet Pea didn't cooperate very well during the first sonogram so we weren't entirely sure with her until very close to her delivery. I think I had 4 or 5 sonograms with Baby Girl because she wouldn't cooperate (hmmm, a pattern?) and the sonographer and doctor thought there might be a problem with her spine. She never would turn just right so they could tell for sure but after 4 times (the last one we paid to have a 4D) they decided she seemed okay so they'd just wait until she arrived.

I had to know. If he had been a girl the name would have been Sarah Louise. I am into naming kids after people not just what is in at the time. If I had another child(which I am not :woohoo:) I have a few names--Girls-Elizabeth, Claudia, Frances--Boys-Franklin, Daniel, Austin. :woohoo:

I like surprises, but at the same time, I'm a control freak. I wouldn't mind not knowing, really, except that I have to plan for their arrival which means getting the nursery together, buying cutsie clothes, etc., and so, I would simply have to know.

The girl names these days are pretty, I think. I got sick of the names from my age group - there were always 3 Jennifers and Melissa's in every class. Nowadays, there's a bunch of Emily, Hannah, Sarah, Madison, Grace, and Emma.

Jacob is the big boys name, as is Jake and Jack. I'm a fan of William, Bryan, Ethan, and Noah.

I toyed with the idea of waiting, but couldn't. I have a hard time not opening presents early too!

And I'm probably not the best person to ask about baby names. Since AC's name is unspellable and unpronouncable by most people, y'all might not want to hear my suggestions
