It's like insta-itch to them and they will literally naw sores all over themselves. Her vet told her to give her chihuahua half of a childrens bendryl to help. It seems to work wonderfully. Oh and she uses a prescription medicated shampoo on them sometimes too, and for other baths she just uses head and shoulders! Poor Ollie! We have a pekingese that DH insists on shaving. I keep telling him if I'd wanted a pug I'd have bought a pug. It doesn't matter. He waits until I'm not looking and then takes a hunk out of her hair so there really isn't much choice. She does seem happier in the summer though so I've pretty much resigned myself to owning a pug.
