I, too, plant stuff that dies. The two things I've found that are quite hardy are those petunias Rhonda loves and pansies.

Kimberly's Mom, clearly you are going to have to intervene and plant some green things for your daughter. :) AC needs to watch stuff grow.

Andrea, I *love* dianthus. They're hard to kill, too. I currently have a butterfly bush on the deck that needs to go in the ground. They grow fast and they're pretty.

I planted some hot pink dianthus to help with curb appeal and plopped a couple ferns on each side of my front door. I'm restraining myself this spring and will go nuts next spring at the new house.

My previously planted irises and tulips are about to blossom, though. I'm very psyched!

Don't be fooled, though. My thumb is quite brown and shriveled. The stuff that's alive in my flower beds are blessed by God. I certainly have nothing to do with keeping them thriving.

It's all mom, Rhonda. My thumbs are black (and I'm not exactly what you'd call an outside girl anyway :))

So, mom, if you're reading this, you can come plant stuff whenever

Susan, you must plant *something*. I'd bet your darling son would enjoy watching a flower grow. :)

Marilyn, I'm going to have some tomato plants as well. I love tomato sandwiches.

Jen, you had lovely flowers when I was at your house last summer.

Kimberly, as you saying Darling Geek is the planter there? Or does your mom come over and make things grow?

Every year I plant stuff...and it dies. But I will plant impatiens in the window boxes hanging on my upper deck. I'm going to try to limit my plant sacrifices this year.

All I've done is move my peace lily from the kitchen to the front porch. And I've pulled the weeds from an area I plan to turn into an herb garden. I'm afraid to plant anything yet cause I'm afraid Mother Nature will rear her head one more time before it stays warm for good. But once I'm sure winter's over I plan to plant blue fan flowers in several places. I planted them last year and they were absolutely gorgeous! They spread and cover a big area so they're perfect for a spot in the backyard and the two places at the end of the drive in the front.

I'll have a couple tomato plants too, but no fancy schmancy hybrids like last year. The tomatoes might have been disease resistant but they had no taste. This year it's gonna be Big Boys or Beefmaster or one of those big ole red juicy varieties.
