I am so glad I didn't have to worry about that. HE HE... I was driving over the road when that came up so my DH had to deal all by himself.

I don't look forward to Science projects. We had enough trouble with a cardboard car for AWANA this week. Of course we have known about it for months. Husband said he would take care of it. He did get a car plain cardboard car done Sat afternoon. So Sunday after church we yes all three of us had to do some decorating on it.

Ginger, my dh is pretty good about taking care of things when I'm on deadline. He may grumble about it, but I can usually count on him to step up to the plate. :-)

Jen, it seems like I remember your last foray with Girl and her SFP.

Mariyn, I'm not entirely sure about the cabbage. It's got something to do with making testing strips to check and see if ants produce some sort of acid when they are scared. I suspect at some point my son will be disturbing an ant hill. Fun. :-) The lemons are for citrus power--she's supposed to light a light bulb with them. We shall see...

Kira, sounds like your girls are set when SFP time rolls around.

Kimberly, I think they start in the 6th grade, but I could be wrong. But I suspect that your geek will be all over the SFP with your baby, so you'll be off the hook. :-)

I still remember the parents' meeting the school had regarding science projects one year. "This," they said, holding up an average-looking project board, "is not an acceptable project." Looked okay to me. Actually, it looked pretty darned good for a fifth grader. "This, on the other hand," they said, holding up a project board that looked like it emerged from the propulsion lab at NASA, "is a perfect science project." Well yeah. It looked like someone with a Ph.D. had put it together. It was perfect.

So what they were telling us was to do the projects for our kids. Yeah, right. We helped, but it was THEIR project. However, one year #1 son did win at the school level and go on to the regional level. And it was the beginning of the computer age, so we did the projects on computer and I saved them so I could re-cycle them for #2 son. Of course, they stopped the science fair program when #2 son got to that age.

Good luck with that red cabbage. Just what in the heck kind of science project do you do with red cabbage? Or lemons?

I break out in hives at the mere sight of the words Science Fair Project. It was beyond hellish.
