I’m Not Proud, But…
…I have been following the Anna Nicole Smith saga in the Florida courtroom with rabid–and often horror-stricken–facination. Here’s what I’ve decided.
With the exception of Larry Birkhead who seems sane, the rest of them are crazy, the judge included. The issue before his court is who should get the body and where Anna Nicole should be buried. The sad woman bought a plot next to her son. How much plainer could her wishes be???? From everything I’m seeing, her son was the only person who didn’t use her.
Howard K. Stern makes my flesh creep and the mother… Well, yesterday was the first day in ten years since she’d seen her daughter. She’s visiting her in the morgue, for crying out loud, and who drives her there? A journalist from Splash magazine.Â
Gee, I wonder where her heart really is? I wonder what could possibly be motivating her tearful performance in the courtroom? If she cared about her daughter at all, she’d bury her next to her son. But does she want to do that? No. She wants to take her back to Texas. I guess it’ll be easier to charge admission to the grave if she’s there.
Argh!
Anyone else been keeping up with this?

Yes. And I’m ashamed
My husband asked me a simple question about it yesterday and I went into a ten minute explanation that had his eyes glazing over.
But I have to agree…bury the woman next to her son. Unfortunately, I think legally it isn’t that simple. The mother might be the next of kin (because we don’t know who the guardian of the child is) so…
The whole thing is sad in a creepy sort of way.

Mostly keeping up with it via you.
I’d like to see some very bad things happen to that mother and Howard K Stern. I watched that video he shot of her, 8 months preggers, and he’s making jokes about whether it’s a mushroom trip. That poor woman was used and abused her entire life. I’m so sad for her and that mother just sickens me.

I think Howard K Stern killed her son, then killed her, thinking that baby was his so he would inherit everything. When its all said and done, that baby will get tossed away.
Just goes to show you that you should keep your will up to date and explicit enough that there are no lingering questions for your “family” to fight over. Everyone have a current will with (for those who have them) custodians named for their children and an executor that isn’t a flake? Hope so…

I think the whole situation is sad. Why do celebrities self destruct so often?
I also have to agree that Birkhead seems like the only sane one in the bunch. Money is surely the driving factor for her mother and I’m not so sure it isn’t for Stern as well.
What I can’t understand is why it is taking so long to have the DNA test done to determine who the baby’s father is. It’s too bad she can’t be made a ward of the court and adopted by a loving couple who will give her a normal childhood. My heart goes out to her more than anyone.

I’ve sorta kept up. I almost hope neither Stern, nor Birkhead nor Anhalt is the father. Ha! That would show them.
The mother is definitely a nut case.
But the real tragedy is that the baby is at a stage in her life where she’s beginning to bond with a caregiver. Ideally that would be parents, but since her mother’s dead and we don’t know who daddy is, she’s bonding with whoever has her and will probably be ripped away from that person when the court gets its a$$ out of its head and does the paternity testing. Dannielynn is the real victim here. I agree — she needs to be with a loving couple who will love and cherish her, and not because she’s rich.

K-Fed has gone to court in LA today to seek custody of the kids after Britney’s scalp-shaving, check-in-and-out-of-two-rehab-centers escapade.
Those children need to be raised by adults, not two children who dont’ have their heads (bald or not) screwed on straight.

Yes, I have been keeping up with & discussing with my brothers & sister about Anna Nicole. It is truly a sad situation, indeed. I hope that she is buried next to her son. That is where she should be. As for the baby, I’m leaning toward Howard but I guess Birkhead would be okay too. It’s just terribly sad for this infant. As for Brit & K-fed, they are a joke. Why aren’t the grandparents, on either side, stepping up to the plate?

Kira, it’s just pathetic. The judge in the case wants his own TV show and appears to be using his fifteen minutes of fame to audition. Meanwhile, ANS’s body is decomposing at a faster rate than anticipated and the DNA hearings have been delayed. Retarded. All of it.
Jen, we’re on the same page with the mother. She turns my stomach. She’s the worst one of the lot.
Andrea, there are a lot of people who think Howard is responsible for her death. (And Daniel’s, too.)
Lizabeth, ANS died the day after a California judge issued an order that she had to submit the baby for DNA testing. The FL judge is trying to get jurisdiction for the paterity suit–to further his fame, IMO–but the CA judge isn’t having it. They’re supposedly having paternity hearings in the Bahamas today, too.
Marilyn, the Britney/K-Fed thing is just ridiculous. Don’t you just want to slap her?
Or is that just me?
Ginger, that’s a good question about the grandparents. I think Britney’s mother is out there, but Brit’s a grown woman. To some degree, I’m sure her hands are tied. It’s sad for the kids.

I don’t know that the grandparents are the best option in these scenarios - they did raise the trainwreck called the kid’s parents, so obviously something may have gone awry in the way they were brought up. Your kids are going to do what they’re going to do, but hopefully you’ve raised them to have some sense. None of the people mentioned above seems to have any.

Andrea, you’ve got that right. Have you heard? Brit’s BACK in rehab.

I can’t help but follow this story, I’m a pop culture slut. I actually feel really bad for Anna. And Brit too, for that matter. It’s the mom in me, I can’t help it.

Apparently K-Fed called an emergency custody hearing and threatened Britney with a full custody request if she didn’t go back into rehab. She checked back in and he cancelled the hearing. Such drama!
I swear, you should have to pass a test and get a license before you can breed…

Sadly, I too have been following this pitiful drama. To me it just shows that huge sums of money only bring out the worst in people. For ANS it brought out the sickos who love to take advantage of undereducated women…sad to say, but true. And for the dynamic duo Brit/K-Fed…I honestly believe if the media would refuse to air or print or publish ANYTHING concerning those two for a few months, they would get their SH…stuff together. Whatever happened to the days when people were just happy to have a job to go to everyday? Granted it might not be your DREAM job, but if it is an honest living, what does it matter?
Sorry I know it isn’t Wednesday

I’m just appalled at the amount of air time this woman gets…
Isn’t there any *real* news to be reported?
February 22nd, 2007 at 7:11 pm
Jill, I feel bad for them, too. Anna was simply a wreck and Britney needs a little self-respect. Just goes to show that all the money in the world can’t buy that. It’s sad.
Andrea, I agree. Some people don’t have any business reproducing.
Sheryl, it doesn’t have to be Wednesday for this.
Kimberly, evidently not on the news. I’ve seen very little of anything that remotely constitutes news since the ANS stuff started.

Quite an interesting day in ANS and Brit-Fed land. Just goes to show you can have a lot of money and STILL be poor white trash.
