Spring hasn’t completely sprung here in northern Alabama, but it’s getting close.  My yard could use a good cutting and I’m anxious to get my planters–which look particularly sad right now–filled with potted plants.  I love wave petunias and salvia and lavender, geraniums and verbena.  Stuff with lots of color.  What I don’t like is the scent of potting soil and fertilizer, but the reward is worth the grief. Or at least that’s what I think when I’m sitting on my back deck sipping iced tea and enjoying the blooms.

I’ve got lots of good books coming out this summer to make your days just a little bit hotter.  LETTERS FROM HOME will be out in July and THE SOLDIER will be available in August (these are both part of the Uniformly Hot series) and another anthology in December with my Soapbox Queen pals Jennifer Larecque and Vicki Lewis Thompson.  I hope you’ll check them out!

Until then, Happy Spring!
